The built-in answering system, meanwhile, includes three digital mailboxes for more efficient organization. The mailbox system is particularly nice for busy households, as it lets users organize messages according to the recipient, or in a home office setting where home and business messages need to be stored separately. The answering system sports such additional features as 15 minutes of digital recording time, remote access (for checking messages when away from home), call screening/intercept, and intuitive voice prompts.
In addition, both cordless handsets include three-line LCD displays that provide caller ID and call waiting data (subscription required), including storage space for 25 names and numbers. Users will also appreciate the display-and-dial function, which lets you scroll through the phone's directory and quickly dial the selected number, along with the time/date stamp that lets you know exactly when you received an incoming call. And thanks to the 20 speed dial presets, you'll have quick access to your best friends and favorite restaurants.
Additional features include a memo record function that lets you leave reminder messages for yourself or others, a page system that lets you locate the handsets when they're misplaced, adjustable volume levels for each unit, and a low-battery indicator. The bundle, which also includes a pair of rechargeable ni-cad batteries, is backed by a one-year warranty on parts and labor.
What's in the Box
Two cordless handsets, base unit (with answering system), phone charger, mounting adapter, two ni-cad batteries, telephone line cord, two AC adapters, user's manual.

Enter the AT&T model 2255. The other reviews confused me but I'm keeping my phone...it is (for lack of a better term)..the bomb! Here's more:Pros: 2. You only need one phone jack. 2. The combined answering machine system is great. The system is simple and intuitive to program and comes with 3 mailboxes. 3. The system is stylish in appearance & takes up minimal space. 4. The price I paid was great... . 5. However, it turned out to be a great phone overall. Clarity has been exceptional both on the phone and the answering machine, with adequate volume on both outgoing and incoming messages. The range has been great as well. I've been able to walk around the neighborhood for several hundred feet from the house without any loss of signal. My main beef with the phone is that there is no battery backup for the settings on the base unit. You have to go through a cumbersome process to reset all your preferences. |
