AT&T CL83201 DECT 6.0 Cordless Phone, Black/Silver, 2 Handsets

I work from home and purchased this phone so I could have a cordless if I needed to step away from my desk, but wanted a speaker phone for every time else. While I am happy with the features and the call quality while using the handset, the speaker phone is horrible. I can hear people just fine, but nearly everyone I speak to says I sound like I am under water and it is near impossible to hear me. This is the speaker from the base of the phone that is the problem. If I use the speaker on the handset it seems to be fine. However you cannot charge the phone while using the handset speaker without ending the call so if you are on a long call you may run risk of draining the battery dead.

We have had these phone for just over a month now and really like them. We previously had Panasonic phones, but thought the quality of the phones was poor. The walkie-talkie feature is really great and also like the talking caller ID. The only feature we don't care about is calling people using the directory. It seems like there should be a better way to use this feature than going through so many steps to get to the directory.

Of the phones available, The CL83201 package (manufactured by V-tech) best fit these criteria.

We have been using the phone for about a week and have observed crystal-clear calling on the speakerphones and handsets. Both the phone and answering device have been very easy to set up and use. We also like the buttons on the phone as they are made of hard plastic rather than the flexible material found in other phones.
