AT&T CL84100 DECT 6.0 Corded/Cordless Answering Speakerphone System With AT&T DECT 6.0 Accessory Four Handset Bundle

Well, I finally had a chance to set up the phone and register the four hand sets. The phone and answering machine is incredibly clear. My last answering machine I would have to play back 10 or 15 times trying to understand the phone number on the incoming call. This machine I can get the message the first time. The four hand sets are the same way. I am pleased with my purchase, and I would recommend this phone to other people. I was surprised when I opened the boxes and found that it came with four hand sets and the base station. The advertising was misleading when I was doing my research I wasn't sure how many I was going to receive. Some of the pictures only showed three hand sets. Four worked out perfect I have one in my shed in the yard.

I detest the phones that are being sold at places like Best Buy and Staples. Absolutely detest them. They're junky, too small, and none of them fit my ear. They're just crap! I sometimes wonder if they're made in China for Chinese midgets. You'd think these electronics manufaturers could do better and try to raise customer return because I've thrown a number of these things in the trash and won't go back to that brand again. I encourage folks not to buy the junk phones at those big box stores.

That said, I looked at this phone and it seemed substantially better than others and, after seeing the rave reviews here, decided to try the whole set of 5. Why not, for 125 bucks I could do worse. Got it delivered almost the next day and I'm satisified. Good AT&T quality, fits my ear (I figured that out in a store), and the sound quality is very good. I replaced all of the corded phones in our house with this set of 1 corded and 4 cordless phones---my first time to have cordless so I got my "twenty something" son to help me with the setup! Sound quality is excellent on conversations, good choice of rings and volume, displays (caller id,new voice mail indicator,etc) are good. I do not have an opinion on the built-in answering machine since I subscribe to voice mail from my provider so we have the answer feature turned off. Also, I have not used the Directory feature yet. One feature that I REALLY miss is the ability to scroll through the Caller ID history, find a number that you want to call and be able to "display dial" it...with these phones you have to write the # down and then manually dial it. Aesthetically, if I could change something it would be that the Base corded phone is mostly black (needs more silver on it)----just my own personal preference.
