It is a big improvement over our similar Panasonic 4-line system, which we were happy to get rid of when we recently moved offices (poor sound quality, the '1' buttons went dead on several of the handsets, and the battery life was not good). This phone has extra bells a...Read Morend whistles that our Panasonic did not. One of the greatest features I like is that the handsets have speakerphone capability (not just the base station), it can record phone calls (the other person will hear a beep), and another employee can join in on a phone call in progress just by holding down the specific line key from their handset (or base) (and a person can put the call into privacy to disallow this feature, per call), and lots more neat features, such as Push to Talk and Intercom.
The base unit and handsets are also better looking than our Panasonic system, and the back-lighting is much, much better. This review is from: AT&T SB67118 SynJ 4-Line Extendable Range Corded-Cordless Small Business Phone System With Total of 5 Handsets (Electronics) Right off the bat... installed it in about 5 minutes. Almost exactly like the Panasonic system we replaced. Programming was almost identical. After we added our messages for incoming calls we attacked every problem people pointed out in their reviews. None are true... you need to go back and read the book. It's all there. Four stars cuz nothing is perfect, but so far so good. 16 of 19 people found the following review helpful: By Flats Man (Rockport, Texas USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: AT&T SB67118 SynJ 4-Line Extendable Range Corded-Cordless Small Business Phone System With Total of 5 Handsets (Electronics) All the features of this phone are good quality except the ability to set the line answering. If you are on line one, and line two rings, it automatically puts line one on hold. Nice feature. However, there is no way to get back to the desired line by pushing the buttons. On old manual phones, the button activated the line. On this kind of digital phone, it selects the line... not you. The only way we could get the phone to "give up" a line was to activate the speaker phone and then hang up. In other words, when you are done with the call on line two and want to take line one off hold and re-answer that line, you can't. It will put line two on hold... because you have quit talking on a line, it is put on hold, not deactivated. Really frustrating for a busy office. Could not find a programming solution in the manual. We are giving up on this phone and moving to another brand. |
