Clarity Additional Handset with DCP and Charging Base for CLARC4230 and CLARC4220 (C4230HS)

Comment: I ordered this for my Mother who has a hearing problem. It has NOT been very reliable and certainly not worth the EXPENSE. She bought a cheaper hearing phone at Target that put this one to shame. However, the service dept and complaint department was there every time to assist. IT's just not the phone we expected it to be.

Comment: This is a well made phone but you can't get more than 25 feet away from the base. The volume boost cuts in and out all of the time. I don't like this phone but choices are limited. Good service from vendor.

Comment: I bought this handset, along with the base unit, for my 89 year old mother who is hearing impaired. The sound quality on both the base unit and the handset are sub-par, but especially poor on the handset. The reception on the handset is very limited, the handset cannot be located very far from the base unit or the sound will break up. Even when placed only a short distance from the base unit the sound quality is sub-par, but at least the sound doesn't break-up.

Additionally, this phone is too complicated for an elderly person to use. In order to listen to your messages on the handset you must go through a menu and press several small buttons before the message will play.

I read the other bad reviews concerning this handset but thought I'd give it a try anyway; don't be a fool like me and waste your money on this poor quality handset!

Comment: I wear 2 computerized hearing aids and still was unable to hear many on a normal phone. Supposedly, there is a "telephone" selection with one of the hearing aids, but it doesn't do that much either. Then I found this Clarity C-4220 and now I can even understand my mumbling murmuring son when he calls AND the cute little high pitched voice of a little Grandson. If you wear hearing aids this is the phone for you. It has all kinds of features which allows you to tune in to a particular person's voice, adjust it to your hearing aid, and boost the volumn on those that like to whipser talk. This phone permits me to get back in the conversation with those who call just to talk.

Comment: I bought the clarity 4220 for my 94 yr old Grams. Whenever we'd talk on the phone she would start banging her old cordless on the table cause she thought the phone was bad... but It wasn't the phone. :)

So I started looking into phones for people with varying degrees of hearing loss and my research brought me to try the clarity. Anyway she loved it so much that she had me order her an additional handset for her kitchen. It comes with super easy to follow instructions on how to link up the additional handset(s) to the main base unit. Additional handsets come with a small cradle/charger that plugs into a standard wall plug and that's it... dont even need a phone jack for the additional unit(s) just for the main unit.
Grams says She highly recommends this phone for anyone with hearing loss and I can tell a huge difference when we speak on the phone now. I'm Very happy with the results as well.
