Pros: 1) speaker phone option on all handsets; 2) phone book entries consolidated/synchronized for all handsets 3) better than average range; 4) handset access to answerer; 5) no interference from computer or other electronics; 6) Mute button; 7) call hold/call transfer feature; 5) ability to easily conference with two handsets; 6) well lit, easy to read display; 7) handsets small and light weight; 8) very good battery charge duration that easily meets manufacturer's claims

Cons: 1) old battery technology (two cell NiCad); 2) somewhat weak ringer volume; 3) no headset jack; 4) no belt clip(s)

Overall assessment: Ringer volume is adequate if you're in the same room. Voice quality is decent on both ends. Range is adequate for most homes. It reaches the length of our single story 2,500 sq ft L ranch with no signal loss and roughly 50 to 60 yards from the base outside the house within line of sight depending on other obstacles. This 3 set was just what i was looking for. Very easy to set up and use. Price was right also.

I had previously used Uniden cordless phones without a problem, but this model (DECT1480-3) has me frustrated. Two of the three handsets have worked fine, but after only one month, the third handset died. The charging light comes on when in the cradle, but the screen is blank and there is no dial tone...completely unresponsive.

From other reviews on multiple websites, it seems there is a battery issue or a defect in the handset itself. I am not impressed, and I will likely return the whole set and go with a different brand.

UPDATE:

Called Uniden customer service, and since the phone set was still within the one year warranty, they will send a replacement battery pack free of charge. We'll see if that is a long-term solution or not.
