Product Review
Amazon.com Product Description
The 21006ge3 from GE is a 2.4 GHz phone system with an extra handset and charging cradle, as well as many other useful extras. The second handset allows you to have multiple phone placements but doesn't require a second phone jack, so you can place it anywhere you have an electrical socket. By utilizing the 2.4 GHz frequency with digital spread spectrum technology, the 21006ge3 is able to offer clearer, more intelligible reception and at a greater distance than traditional analog phones. A 40-channel autoscan automatically chooses the clearest channel, while a digital security feature helps prevent unauthorized users from accessing your phone line.

Caller ID and call waiting compatible, the 21006ge3 has a 40-name-and-number memory, while a 50-number memory dialer allows you to store frequently used numbers. A display-and-dial feature lets you easily scroll through the caller ID or memory list and then call the displayed number with the touch of a button. You can also transfer caller ID entries to the memory dialing for later use.

Headset compatibility allows you to add an optional headset for hands-free communications, and a belt clip is provided for freedom of movement. An illuminated keypad makes dialing in poorly lit environments a snap, while a page/handset locator makes finding a lost handset quick and easy. A handset-to-handset intercom lets you communicate with the other handset, and you can even use the handsets in walkie-talkie mode. Three-way conferencing lets you communicate with multiple parties at the same time, while a redial button lets you easily dial the last outgoing number (up to 24 digits).

A low batter indicator lets you know when to return the phone to its charging cradle, which can be mounted on the wall, freeing up counter top space completely. The 21006ge3 also comes backed with a one-year limited warranty.

What's in the Box

1.0 out of 5 stars Stay away from this model! Total Disappointment, February 13, 2005

This review is from: GE 21006GE3 2.4 GHz DSS Cordless Phone with Dual Handsets and Caller ID (Office Product)
Looks Great - Feels Good - Didn't Last! As stated from other reviews - poor reception, clicking sounds. Confusing Caller Id format. (Not to mention extremely small display window) And after 1 year of gentle use, on one of the handsets, the 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5, buttons no longer functions. What a waste! Avoid at all costs!

3.0 out of 5 stars Pros & cons of the GE 2.4 GHz Dual Handset Phone - 21006GE3, June 15, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: GE 21006GE3 2.4 GHz DSS Cordless Phone with Dual Handsets and Caller ID (Office Product)
The reason I purchased a dual phone system was to avoid wiring a second wall jack to my bedroom.

I chose this particular phone system mainly because it was priced better than other similar phones. The better security of the 2.4 GHz frequency and especially the DSS (Digital Spread Spectrum) security feature were also a deciding factor.

My biggest concern is the sound quality. Though it has great range, I register a slight hiss as though I'm calling long distance. I also hear a few clicks now and then, though very infrequently. I cannot rule out my immediate environment as a possible cause, but since I am not in a densely populated area, I find my environment an unlikely candidate. The quiet hiss is present between handsets as well as on calls, ruling out my phone line. I've turned off all my electrical equipment with no improvement. The hiss is so slight that it is easily tolerated.

This would be a good phone system for both business and home use. However, I...Read more

Well pleased with both performance and quality of these phones.
Clear audio with good range.
Second handset does not require phone jack, nice feature extending primary base/phone. Good value for the price.
