Summary: Has not stood the test of time! 2010-07-29
Comment: I bought this phone with two extra bases (total of four handsets) back in Dec 2007. At this point, two of four handset speakerphones have failed. I've had to move the handsets around so I have the speakerphones in the right place. When the speaker fails, then there is no ringing from the handset with the failed speaker.

My base also has an issue - although it has four fresh batteries, it indicates "No Battery" and doesn't retain settings when it loses power.

Overall - it's a nice concept - we used the cell fusion quite a bit early on, but not now (my wife and I both have Google Voice numbers, which is a good substitute). But, the reliability of the phone is very substandard. My recommendation is do not buy, but look for a more reliable, better-built phone.

Summary: This baby works GREAT 2010-03-28
Comment: I got this phone the other day and charged one of the handsets up overnight before I set everything up. I watched a review on CNET before ordering it. The handsets are light and dont feel cheap like some cordless phones. We have finally decided to get rid of the Qwest landline and use our cells. I really wanted to keep my landline number so I used another family share plan line and ported the Qwest number over to it. Now instead of paying Qwest 30 bucks a month I just pay the 9.99 to verizon. Ya we burn a few more minutes but I have the important numbers added to friends and family so that keeps us from going over and when we if we go out and have a sitter there is still a "celLandline" to be able to get ahold of us. Anyway I paired the cell(took about 1 minute) over to this GE phone and it works really good. Its nice to not have to carry the cell around up to your ear when b s ing with grandma or my brother for an hour. The handsets have speakerphone also so you can sit it down while talking. You can pair 2 cells to this unit so if you and your wife want to use your cells at home you can. When it rings it lets you know which cell the call is coming from. All of the other features it has are pretty cool to like intercom between handsets or base and listen back. You can listen to whats going on in a room that has a handset in it, or listen to the base from a handset. Fun for spying on the kids if they have a handset sitting in the room. Push to talk also to and from handsets and base. All handsets can store 200 numbers and you can set caller Id ringers for different numbers just like your cell. It has the answering machine and a bunch of alarm and calender stuff on it also that I havent played with. I'm going to order a few extra handsets because we have a big house and you can put up to 7 handsets on this baby. So far so good.

Summary: Great Technology, Poor implementation 2010-02-19
Comment: The basic features of this phone are great but the design is poor. For example, Redial. Basic for most phones. In most phones it's a single button. Not this phone. You have to do the following:
Menu --> Call Records --> Select --> Dialed Calls --> then you have to move the up or down arrows to get to the last one you dialed. But, get this, you have no context as to when they were dialed (no date or time).

Also the Mute and "End" buttons are too close. I have three other cordless phones in front of me - they all have their "End" button in a distinct place - offset from the other buttons. This phone has them in a common area. Can't tell you how many times, in a conference call, I've clicked "End" instead of "Mute".

The range of the phone is average (I expected a lot more). But the battery life is excellent.

The bluetooth implementation is limited. I can't use my bluetooth headset nor can I easily pair more than one cell phone (both I could do with my Panasonic phone).

Disappointing.

Summary: cell phone extention 2010-02-14
Comment: We bought this unit mainly as an extension for a cell phone while we are at home. In that respect, it has worked really well. We don't have to be concerned about where we put our cell phone. We just use the cell fusion phone.

We have not programmed it for use with our home phone. Directions for use both ways are a little complicated so we prefer to use it just for cell phone use.

The main complaint we have is the display screen is hard to read.

Summary: Does what it says it will do ... software does not work 2010-02-08
Comment: I purchased this phone set for my wife for Christmas 2009 and we like it. We did not like the fact that when we were home and our cell phones ring we had to run up stairs and across the house ... if we even heard them ring (or carry them ... tied to a phone). My wife heard about these and we saw them at Wal-Mart but I did not feel like paying over $100 for them.
I read the reviews here AFTER I bought them and was scared... but ours works great. Both phones connect and our land line too! The issues that I have is with the ease of use (figuring out the menus) and with the software... it will not work on Windows 7. The customer service is USELESS! for both the software manufacturer and GE... I had to fight with GE to say that there was software. I have not figured out all what the software does besides uploading ring tones.
But the phone does work, had no issue connecting the Bluetooth. In fact, I recently ordered 3 new extensions and the Bluetooth headset.
I would recommend this to anyone... just be sure you can follow the instructions on how to connect a Bluetooth device. It is now February and all is well.
