GE Cordless 5.8 GHz Digital 28031EE2 Phone with 2 Handsets, Caller ID and Digital Answering System

This is a terrific cordless system, with good sound and no interference noise or issues (even in the same room with my wireless router), excellent range, and long battery life. The answering machine, with 3 separate mailboxes and 2 available outgoing messages you can switch back and forth between, is feature packed for a system as value-priced as this one. The best feature of all, especially in an expandable system, is the Do Not Disturb button on the base -- one push and every handset is automatically silenced! Fabulous for use in a home office environment.

I'd give it 5 stars, but the handset itself is a little awkwardly shaped around the speaker, belling out and making it almost impossible to hold snugly against your ear if you're trying to hear better. I was looking for a phone with 3 mailboxes which limited my choice quite a bit. After reading reviews, I decided for this phone. That was NOT a good choice. First, the sound is really low and sometimes have a static noise in the background. I wish the volume had one higher level for the ear piece. It's not super low, but one higher level should make a call more comfortable. The ear piece has an odd shape that makes it hard to find the right spot for it so you can hear clearly. The speaker phone is probably the best part of this phone. It has a clear and good sound. Would I recommend this phone? Probably not!

OK. This is it! Now 4 month later I can just say that this phone has been nothing but a nuisance. It even interfered with the fax machine, so the fax kicked in in the middle of a conversation. The phone is excellent so far. It was everything I thought it would be. What I didn't like is that it shows 3 phones in the ad but they only send you 2. To me this is false advertising. They should show actually what you would be getting.
