Motorola DECT Cordless Handset for the L3xx and L4xx Series, Silver (L4S)

They work well as phones, but it's kind of annoying that they don't share the phone directory and custom ring tones that you've set on the base station.

I just wanted to offer a comment about Motorola phones; a lesson I learned the hard way.

I bought a Motorola cordless phone H101. The phone worked fine for 6 months and then just stopped working. Motorola has engaged a company called "Encompass" to process returns for at least some models of their cordless phones, including the H101. This was a brand new Motorola cordless phone and I was surprised to learn Motorola itself was not handling problems. Encompass gave me the run around for a month after I mailed the phone back for replacement - we can't find a record of your incident, we can't confirm we received the phone back (even though I sent them a copy of the US certified mail receipt), etc... I truly view Encompass as a criminal enterprise after my experience dealing with them. I have no doubt they make money every time they wear down a customer seeking a replacement phone. This was an addition to our base unit phone that came with 2 other handsets. We wanted a phone extension in 3 different rooms. Well setting up the original two that came w/ the base unit was easy, everything sync'd up. But this extra handset had some problems... after finally synching, we found the time/date do not sync up w/ the base unit like the other two handsets that came w/ the base unit, and also the caller ID does not work on it! Everything else works fine though. Since we need the extra handset, we are just going to keep it. But it's a shame that Motorola couldn't get their act together on these handsets... disappointing. On a positive note, the sound is crystal clear, and callers tell me it is crisper than our previous Panas*nic phone.
