4.0 out of 5 stars Battery problems are strange, but avoidable, October 17, 2004

I recently acquired a 2.4Ghz Panasonic cordless phone after seeing one my parents have had the last 5 months and being very impressed with the features. I wanted to post this because I've seen the many reviews complaining of poor battery life.

My question for all the people experiencing problems: Did you leave the phone charging on the base unit while you weren't using it? If so, you should understand this. For whatever reason, these phones appear to be counterintuitively designed so that the battery lasts longer when NOT left on the base unit.

And in fact, my owner's manual for model KXZ-TG2355 states this under the Battery Information section: "If the battery is fully charged, you do not have to place the handset on the base unit until 'Recharge battery' is displayed and/or [the battery indicator] flashes. This will maximize battery life."

So although this is a very strange way of designing a phone (or a battery), it regardless is not...Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor outgoing sound quality, November 23, 2002
This review is from: Panasonic GigaRange KX-TG2267B 2-Line 2.4 GHz Digital Cordless Phone with Caller ID (Office Product)
Transmitted voice quality is muffled and unclear, sibilants will be almost entirely missing (s's, z's, sh's, zh's, etc.) The speakerphone on the handset is even worse. Received sound is okay, but if you need to be easily understandable to your callers, don't buy this unit

Eighteen(!) programming steps are required each time you want to turn the handset ringer on or off.

This telephone is obviously a toy designed for casual home use, certainly not for serious business.

1.0 out of 5 stars Defective and Defective Again, April 8, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Panasonic GigaRange KX-TG2267B 2-Line 2.4 GHz Digital Cordless Phone with Caller ID (Office Product)
I bought this phone last night. Audio was choppy. Charged the battery overnight. Audio still choppy. Moved base unit. No difference. Replaced cables. No difference. Put my old phone, also a Panasonic gigarange, different model, back on line - to make sure it wasn't a problem with my phone lines. It wasn't. Exchanged the defective telephone for another this morning. The replacement was worse. Sound stutters rapidly making voices unintelligible. Snaps and pops too.
