Amazon.com Product Description An expandable cordless system that's ideal for large homes or small businesses, the Panasonic KX-TG2382B includes an additional handset and charger that you can station in a different room from the main hub; one additional handset (for a total of three) is supported as an add-on option. Each handset can connect to another for use as an in-house intercom, and includes a backlit and three-line LCD that provides access to call waiting/caller ID information (with subscription to local service). Thirty names and numbers may be stored and redialed at the touch of a single button, while a separate 30-station phonebook gives access to your most frequently dialed numbers.
Hang your phone up on the base (facing up or down) or the included charger--either one will charge your phone whenever you're not using it.
Three-way conference calls are available via a single button. When the battery starts running low, you'll know instantly, thanks to the indicator light on the LCD. Each handset is supplied with a digital duplex speakerphone, permitting hands-free calls with none of the annoying echoes of earlier speakerphone models.
The base incorporates a digital answering system with 15 minutes of message recording time. Simple controls allow you to listen, save, and delete messages easily. You'll have full remote access, complete with toll saver, which prevents long distance charges from accruing when you dial in from across the country and there are no messages.
The handsets use the 2.4 GHz frequency with digital spread spectrum technology, which "skips" constantly through a range of available channels to reduce interference and to provide improved security against eavesdropping. Panasonic includes a one-year warranty covering parts and service.

I wanted a cordless phone to replace a dead Panasonic KX-TG2650 (2.4 GHz cordless phone with speakerphone). In addition, I wanted a phone that has an answering machine built in. Finally, I wanted a cordless phone which offered good range.
I narrowed down my choices by reading epinions.com, ranking of popular phones at amazon.com, and recommendations from cordlessphonesamerica.com. This model appeared to fit my bill. After a week of use, I'm convinced I made the right choice.
Calls are clear, except when I turn on the microwave -- I hear a few clicks when that happens. But that's expected of cordless phones that operate on the 2.4GHz bandwidth.
This model allows you to have conversations between handsets (walkie talkie feature :-)) In addition, you can transfer incoming phone calls from one handset to another, and conference into the conversation after the transfer, if needed. You may also page handsets from the base.

The Panasonic KX-TG2385B with it's 3 cordless phones in one, digital answering machine, intercom, caller ID and handset speakerphone works so flawlessly that it met all my phone needs. It is very clear and does everything it was promised to do by the manufacturer. I previously owned a 900mhz panasonic and the experience I had with that encouraged me to buy this 2.4GHz and I more that love this phone and I recommend it highly to all you gadget lovers. This review comes from a long-time Panasonic phone owner, and this new model keeps me faithful to the product line. My general impression is that Panasonic has sensed a consumer shift towards "cellular-as-primary-phone", and in order to stay competitive, they've crammed their new products chock full o' features.
My favorite new feature, hands down, is the on-board speakerphone. With a small speaker built into the back of each handset, one button push turns either handset into a portable speakerphone. With full duplex action (no waiting for the other person to stop talking before you do) and microphone quality good enough to make the other party think you're holding the phone, it's a great feature.
Disappointingly, Panasonic did away with the speed dial feature they've had for several generations (the "Auto" button) in lieu of a cell phone style, 30-number directory. The directory seems like an afterthought, with features that pale in comparison to most cell phones. In fact, for...Read more
