I am so glad I gave it a try. Most of the negative reviews include such misinformation as: poor sound quality, no sound produced when depressing keys, poor battery life, etc. must have come from individuals who did not take the time to read the detailed step-by-step instructions which came with the phones. There is much information as the CD445 series phones have many great features, all which perform as advertised. Some of the really great features include the ability to plug in a headset, check and record messages on the answering machine from any phone anywhere in your home (CD4452B/37 models), screen phone calls from anywhere in your home, easily add Caller ID numbers to your phone with the press of a few buttons, speakerphone, back-lit keypad, clean modern look and solid construction. The sound quality is much more crisp than previous phones, with no ambient interference. I did a lot of research before...Read more 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful: This review is from: Philips CD4450B High Def Voice Cordless Phone Handset for CD440 & CD445 Series (Office Product) I bought the 2 phone pack of the Philips CD440 with the base phone and 1 extra phone 4 days ago. I Plugged in both phones and allowed them to charge overnight and didn't try them until i was home the next day from work, they had been on the chargers for at least 16 hours. When i went into the programming menu on the base unit to set the time/date and ring tones the phone completely shut down. I thought that was odd and maybe the unit needed more than 16 hours on the base so i went back to my old cordless phones and let them sit in the charger for another day and a half before i hooked them up again. This time i got my date and ring tone set and even made a call and received one before the phone died in my hand after not more than 15 minutes of total use. I went to the other headset and i wouldnt work at all. The battery light was showing no bars!!! it had 3 bars when it was in the base and when i went to turn it on it immediately went to zero! I have since had both phones on their...Read more 8 of 10 people found the following review helpful: By Reviewer (TX) - See all my reviews This review is from: Philips CD4450B High Def Voice Cordless Phone Handset for CD440 & CD445 Series (Office Product) First of all, this phone is certainly not the worst phone ever. It could be improved. But overall this is the best cordless I have had in the past 5 years. I have had several Vtech phones (batteries only lasted a few months, similar to the GE phone), a GE phone(the battery only lasted 2 months before I could only stay on the phone for 20 minutes), a Panasonic (insanely low volume and the range was only about 30 ft). Yes, the shape of this phone is a problem if you want to hold it with your head on your shoulder, but I don't do that anyway, I have a head set. I have no problem with the volume of this phone, in fact it is much better than most phones I have had. If it's not loud enough for your taste the speaker phone works very well. Programming the phone is somewhat of a challenge. Phillips could have made it much easier. And even viewing the Caller ID can be bothersome sometimes, but not always. To view who is calling when the phone is ringing...Read more |
