For the past few years I had been using a Bluetooth headset but have yet to find one that is both comfortable and that stays in my ear. The other problem with the Bluetooth was remembering to keep it charged all the time and having to re-pair it with my phone when it would "forget" and would occasionally cut out. This Phillips SHH8006/28 headset solves those problems and has some nice features of its own.
I first tested this headset with an iPhone that I borrowed from a friend. The inline remote controls worked flawlessly to initiate calls and answer calls and the mic picked up my voice well according to people on the other end. A couple people said I sounded a little "hollow" but that could have been the connection. Most said I sounded perfectly clear. For such a small mic I think it worked very well. I liked the fact that I didn't have to reach for the iPhone every time I wanted to do something. It works kind of like a Bluetooth, but with wires. When listening to...Read more

best alternative!,

After owning the iPhone for about 6 months or so, i decided it was time to get rid of the annoying headphones and get some that would:
-stay in my ear better
-have better audio
-maintain the same functionality that the included headphones had
When i first looked for headphones all i saw where earbuds and having kind of big ears i am not a fan of earbuds as they easily fall out, especially when i ride my bike.
Then i found these headphones. The hook around the ear ensured that they would be able to stay in my ears and not get jostled out or fall out when i got sweaty.
I have had them for a few weeks now and love them! It is winter so i haven't biked with them yet, but i can already tell that they will be fine. They fit very comfortably in my ears, even isolate outside noise a little bit from the tight fit.
The buttons work great (although hard to feel which button is which for certain).
I would recommend these to...Read more

Depends on what you want them for...,

I had a specific usage for these in mind when I selected them, I wanted something that would stay in my ear when I go for brisk exercise walks, and while these can be a bit fiddly to put on, once on they stay there, and sweaty ears or windy walks make no difference. So they win full points for that. The sound is fine to my not very sophisticated ear. But they are not exceptionally comfortable and I wouldn't wear them just around the house, and if you hook the wire unexpectedly (as seems to happen to me more than it should) they give you a strong tug on the ear as they fall out. My husband who has much better appreciation of sound than I do, found them average in sound quality. I tried my son's ear phones in comparison, and actually found my son's far more comfortable, but not as secure when exercising. So I guess it depends on what you want them for. If you want security/sturdiness, they're it. If comfort is really important to you, they're not it, and if sound quality...Read more
