I am conference calls for many hours every day, and this phone has served me well. Highlights that stand out for me:
* It uses rechargable AAA batteries. No more searching for weird proprietary battery packs when your batteries inevitably die...just get some more NiMH rechargable AAAs! * Battery life is excellent. The phones can go for days with lots of talk without recharging. If you find yourself with two dead phones that haven't been placed on the charger, just throw in some AAAs and you're ready to go. * You can check your messages from the handset--no need to go to the base unit. * Voice quality on both sides is crystal clear. My house is loaded with wireless networks, cameras, security systems, etc., and you would never know from the quality of the phone connection. I was expecting better quality from Phillips but these are the worse phones I've ever had. A few specific complaints:
1. Sound quality, while passable, is not great and I can not be turn it up loud enough for me to hear. 2. I often get complaints that I can't be heard by the people I'm calling. 3. The keys are unreliable. It sometimes takes two or three tries to enter a digit. 4. I haven't found a way to return a call using the caller ID. I can't edit the number as I'm required to prefix it with a "1" 5. It requires multiple, unnecessary, steps to navigate the menus to retrieve the caller ID. 6. They sometimes just go dead -- no lights, dark screen. 7. Sometimes the battery charge indicator goes from full to empty within a few minutes. Recharging for a few minutes restores it.
