RCA GE 21018GE3 - cordless phone w/ call waiting caller ID

This phone seems to perform well on most points. I am happy with the style of the handsets (size and look). The sound is clear and the speaker and intercom functions are very nice features especially for the multilevel house that I live in. Plus, it has a room monitor feature which is helpful with a newborn in the home.

But....this isn't a big deal however the address functions are not that great.
1. It doesn't alphabetize your address book --- crazy!
2. You have to program each handset individually, there is no way to sync up the address books. This is an insane concept if you expand to 4 handsets.

Over all I am happy with this purchase but be aware of the downsides.

Be wary. Our expandable set of these phones worked fine, generally, for several months. The reception was "tinny", but not so much that we had a real problem with it. However, the echo got worse and worse, until we could no longer hear or be heard. After trying a different phone cord and trying the phone in a neighbor's house to see if we could identify the problem, we determined the phones are simply trash. More electronics in the landfills, alas. Phones should last many, many years, not many, many weeks.

Noting the positive reviews below, I will point out that I would probably have left a positive review if I had written one immediately after purchasing the phone. A review written after using a product for some time is, perhaps, more valuable than one written during the honeymoon phase of ownership.

This phone set is crystal clear in any part of the house and even in my yard. The features are sufficent for my needs without being overkill. Recommended.
