Because the Siemens Gigaset 2415 2.4 GHz cordless phone is expandable, only the base needs to be connected to a jack. You can plug a total of four handset chargers into standard power outlets, and you can operate all four handsets (Siemens model 2400) simultaneously without doing any additional wiring. For example, while you and another user talk to a third party on an outside line, two other users can talk to each other through the intercom feature on their handsets. You can customize each handset with its own ring tones, personalized directory, and extension name and number.
The 2415's full-featured answering system with 22 minutes of memory adds to its versatility. The machine records messages digitally, so there are never any tapes to fuss with, plus you can choose from four outgoing greetings. You can access messages from any Gigaset handset or remotely from any touch-tone phone.
The Siemens Gigaset 2415 includes a three-line backlit graphical display that provides caller ID/call waiting information and easy access to a call log and all other system features. The handset design includes headset jacks for hands-free use and internal antennas to protect them against damage. This phone comes with a one-year warranty.

I didn't. After reading the reviews on this website, I bought the Siemens 2415 anyway. The reviews told me that people either loved or hated it this phone system. I ended up hating it.What attracted me to the phone system is the styling. No antenna to break, a streamlined hi-tech but low key look, the phone and answering machine takes up a minimum amount of space and the phone is comfortable next to my face. This is important to those of us who use the phone constantly. I bought the phone, charged it up, studied the manual (which is ambiguous in many places. Siemens should have non-engineer types write these manuals for the rest of us.) Programmed the phone, charged it and entered all my numbers in the directory and was ready to be impressed. WRONG! The biggest problem with the phone is that it did not work with Call Waiting and Call Waiting for Caller Id, which is why I bought the phone in the first place. I would look...Read more 30 of 31 people found the following review helpful: By A Customer This review is from: Siemens 2415 Gigaset 2.4 GHz Cordless Phone System with Caller ID and Answering Device (Gray) (Office Product) I have the main system and two extensions, and I haven'tnoticed any problems in sound quality. I have accidentally hung up onpeople, though. This has happened in two situations, when I pushed the TALK button on a ringing phone in the cradle, and when I try to hold the phone with my shoulder. This type of thing was less of a problem as I got more familiar with the handset. They left out a part of the instructions to register additional handsets, but I quickly got someone on the phone who walked me through it. That being said, I really like the phone system. The phone is light and fits very comfortably next to my ear. I really wanted the caller ID and call waiting ID features, and as I live in a three story townhouse, I like being able to easily identify and retrieve messages from any of the three units. I also like the fact that I can copy my directory (120 total entries max) to all three phones. This is an extremely convenient feature. The fact that the extensions only have...Read more 24 of 24 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Siemens 2415 Gigaset 2.4 GHz Cordless Phone System with Caller ID and Answering Device (Gray) (Office Product) In looking for a 2.4Ghz to replace my Vtech 900Mhz, I read many reviews. While no one phone seemed to sweep me away, I kept coming back to the Siemens phone. I'll admit, the styling and aesthetics appealed to me far more than the Panasonic, which seemed to me the only other phone in the running. While the Siemens has some issues, it's a pretty good phone. Here are the issues:1. When there is a new message, the light blinks. However, all other times, the light is on. This normally means that the answering machine is on, however if your roomate has already checked the messages, you have no overt way of knowing that there are now messages on there. You can check the display on the handset, it isn't hard, but it would have been nice. 2. The buttons are pretty gummie. There is no real way to describe it, but the buttons are like walking in one of those inflate-a-rooms at the carnaval. You never really know how much pressure to apply. 3. There are a few other Usabilities...Read more |
