Siemens Gigaset Cordless Phone System with Additional Handset (C590-2)

In my opinion, a cordless phone needs two things: good battery life and excellent sound quality. These phones supply both. My major complaint with other brands had been that voices are either hard to hear, tinny or there's a lot of static. The Siemens doesn't suffer from static due to interference, and their proprietary software means voices are clear and crisp - much better than average.

The other features on the phone seem well thought-out - easily readable color screen, intuitive directory and settings, and fancy polyphonic ringtones. My only quibble would be the paint on the handset - the "Gigaset" tends to come off on my cheek if I talk for a long time.

I had a Uniden 5.8 Ghz phone for 7 years. Great phone, but needed a replacement. I do lot's of Conference calls, WebEx calls. Got a new Uniden DECT phone, sound was really bad, returned, tried Panasonic, VTech, AT@T, Verizon, all returned. Finally after reading some reviews, I figured give the german technology a chance. Very crisp clear sound. People can understand me at the other end.(The reason I gave it 4 stars I would like to have a little more volume and the price!) Programming was easy (after all I had plenty of practice with all those other phones.)Battery life is incredible, after 2 hours of conference call it hardly used any. It has many great features, including alarm. A great phone, and if you worry about battery life, you can dial while you leave the phone in the charging cradle! The 150 Phonebook entry was much more than any of the other phones had.

I have been looking for the best quality landline phone for years. I have always loved the Sony phones, but like all good thing they quit making them. Well after going through Vtech, Panasonic, and a few other brands...I have FINALLY found the best ever!
I have to say I do not have one thing I do not like about it. this is one phone that I hope will work for a long time. I have had this phone for 3 months now and I have not had any issues.
