We own the Siemens Gigaset S45 for over a year now. I have the answering machine base unit plus 3 expansion handsets. Everything has been working as advertised with outstanding range and no interference with any wireless gadgets in the house including wi-fi.

This phone is ridiculously expensive and it's been nothing but problematic since we bought it last December. Siemens has replaced our phones (we're still waiting for the last one), but now it's a new set of problems. At first it was an issue of the thing keeping time (you have to set the time, unlike many other phones that get it "magically"). Now the phone is beeping at random times and the company is slower than molasses to resolve the issues. Defintely save your money and buy a cheaper phone!

I ordered 2 Siemens DECT 6.0 S45 Cordless telephones. Within a week, on a second order to Amazon, I ordered the base unit needed for these handsets. The two handsets were delivered but the base unit delivery was delayed. After a month, I was informed that the base unit was out of stock and would not be available. I then tried to return the handsets which cannot function without the base unit. The return request was refused because 30 days had expired. I explained the situation to the people at Amazon and received a number of responses filled with pleasantries and platitudes. They sympathized with my dilemma but did nothing. It is clear that Amazon was fully aware of the obsolescence situation but they continue to unload obsolete product. I searched many other sources but the base units are unavailable.
