This review is from: Siemens S79H Gigaset Expansion Handset for S795 (Office Product) I recently purchased Siemens Gigaset Digital Cordless Phone with Hybrid IP/Landline Calling (S675IP) base-unit IP phone, which comes with one handset (expandable up to 6 total). After getting used to the handset that came with the 675IP, I ordered three of these phones to complement the base unit and give us phones throughout the house. I chose this phone instead of ordering more of the S67H that comes with the base unit for several reasons. First, the display is much improved. That's no small thing: the S67H is only available in a white-with-black text option, which - if that's what you're looking for - is fine. But there's no way to change that, if it's NOT what you're looking for. The S79H has several different text/background combinations to choose from, several in black background, which for me was crucial. One of these units will...Read more 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Siemens S79H Gigaset Expansion Handset for S795 (Office Product) This is a nice handset for a Gigaset VoIP/Dect 6 system. I added this handset to a Gigaset 580IP system and overall this handset is much nicer than the 58A handset that comes with the 580IP base station. Button action is good, feature set is much improved, and the directory is multi-level (multiple phone numbers for each entry). The USB connection and synchronization with Outlook is great.
The handset has a few issues, which I hope will be fixed in future firmware releases. Number one is the redail capability: when using the redial list, the handset always trys to redial using the landline (even when VoIP is configured as the primary line). This doesn't work in my situation, since I don't have a landline. Another issue is the "call lists" feature of the handset, which, according to the manual, is supposed to show 3 different types of entries: accepted calls, missed calls, and outgoing calls. My handset only has missed calls...and like the redial list, you can not...Read more 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful: By Random Dude (Santa Barbara, CA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Siemens S79H Gigaset Expansion Handset for S795 (Office Product) Works like a champ. I have the 675 base station and this was a cinch to add to it. I have used three models: C59H, S67H and the S79H. And the S79H is by far my fav. It has a similar interface to the C59 but has a better build quality. The 67H is nice but the interface isnt as nice and it feels plastic-y and cheap. I wish they sold the base seperately I would have the C59H for the bedroom and the S79H for the main. |
