Sony SPP-A2480 2.4 GHz Cordless Phone with Answering System

This phone is a 2 in 1 phone meaning it has a corded base unit and a cordless unit. It has a great, easy to read, lighted display on both units. The cordless has a long range of use because of the powerful 2.4 Ghz. I went through the front yard and across the street to my neighbors driveway and the phone was still picking up signal wonderfully. The system of the phone is very easy to program names and numbers. It can be very loud in ring volume and voice volume if you desire, so if you are hard of hearing, this is the phone for you. Its a cool silver color which adds some modern look to the room and you will see if before sitting on it. It also has a very long battery life. The answering maching messages come out crystal clear and it beeps when you have a message, so you won't forget to check any messages cause of the beeping. I recommend this phone to any one replacing a phone to get the 2 in 1 Sony phone.

I've had this telephone for five months and the cordless phone is no longer working. That is not a very long life, especially considering the cost. Regarding the answering machine, when people hang up before the message is finished, I hear a telephone company recorded message saying that they have dialed the wrong number (or a message similar to that)..it repeats a few times with their beeping noise before it actually turns off, and it is very annoying. No other message machine has ever done this. I really liked the idea of the corded phone as well as the cordless with this model, but I should have listened to the salesmen when they told me Sony cordless phones are returned more than other ones. I didn't because when it comes to cordless phones, I haven't had much better luck with Panasonic or Uniden.

I thought since this was a Sony phone I would enjoy it for a great length of time. I have never been so wrong. The Cordless portion of the phone has broken 4 times. The first few times we sent it back for repair (about a month without the phone). Then they sent us a refurbished version of the phone, which worked for a bit, and then the battery went bad (not long only about 2 months). So I had to get a new one. Then JUST after the warranty was up the cordless phone 'TALK' button stopped working followed buy the '2' and so on. Now I can't even use it. This phone is an awful choice...look elsewhere!
