The SPP-S2730 system supports caller ID with call waiting (requires paid subscription through your local phone company). A convenient one-touch Jog Dial on the base and handset provide easy access to 70 saved caller ID names and numbers and to an additional 100-number phone directory. Call information is clearly displayed on a three-line backlit LCD, which is found on both the base unit and on each cordless handset.

I got fooled by the Sony brand name, thinking this coordless phone would be about the same quality of my Sony TV. Well, it wasn't. It lasted about a month before it just stopped. I replaced it with another brand that cost half the price, and it works just fine . . . threw the Sony in the garbage.
I don't think that Sony even makes these anymore - for good reason!

I just read the only other review and was quite surprised. This person must have been part of the very few unlucky who got a bad unit. Mine has been working flawlessly since I bought it, about 9 years ago, and it even survived a fire. At the time it came out there was nothing better on the market. I also bought recently a Sony reader, same thing thing works wonderfully, and the design is just excellent. Sony still makes high quality electronic equipment today as it's been doing for... ahh I don't know. I even have a digital radio made by Sony which I bought in 1982, and guess what? It still works just fine! Amazing!
