Using a 2.4 GHz analog signal, the handset is able to offer clearer reception than many older phones operating on a lower band. The phone comes with a number of useful features--caller ID/call waiting ready, the GH3065PWT has a 64-number caller ID memory, as well as a 10-number memory dial for frequently used numbers. A display and dial feature lets you easily scroll through either the caller ID or memory location list and then dial the displayed number simply by pressing talk. A built-in speakerphone allows you to communicate hands-free, and the LCD menu can be set to one of three languages (English, French, Spanish). A belt clip is provided for ease of mobility, and a headset jack allows you to attach an optional headset. Handset and speakerphone controls allow you to adjust the volume to a comfortable level, while a switch on the handset allows you to switch between tone and pulse dialing methods.
The built-in CD player/clock radio has stereo speakers and a digital AM/FM tuner with 20 programmable presets. An automatic radio mute turns off the radio or CD player when you receive a call, while a built-in alarm allows you to wake up to either the radio or a buzzer. The snooze button provides you with another nine minutes of precious sleep, while a sleep function automatically turns off the radio after a desired amount of time. The base LCD screen displays the current time in large numbers, along with the last caller ID entry. The GH3065PWT also comes backed with a one-year limited warranty.

This review is from: Southwestern Bell 2.4 GHz Caller ID Cordless Telephone, Stereo CD Player Clock Radio (Pewter) (Office Product) I wanted a small all-in-one phone/CD/radio by the bedside, and got this from Amazon. My thoughts, fellow shoppers: Size: Good. Well constructed with a small footprint. It doesn't take up much bedside space. Phone: Good. I like that it is cordless, and the sound quality is fine. Range is good. CD/radio: Not good. Sound is tinny and volume control poor. Tone is ok for news or other spoken-word, but you're not going to listen to music for enjoyment on this. And I find the preset volume options to be "quiet/quiet/loud/very loud" - no medium sound level, and as it's preset and non-changable, you're stuck with what they give you. (It's either a background sound, or WAKE UP NOW volume. No medium ground.) Lay-out: Poor. 19 buttons, many small, and not intuitive. You cannot shift from cd to radio easily, and certainly not in a groggy early-morning state of mind. And I've not yet figured out how to set the alarm - ok, ok, I need to read the manual...Read more 3 of 4 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Southwestern Bell 2.4 GHz Caller ID Cordless Telephone, Stereo CD Player Clock Radio (Pewter) (Office Product) Great phone. Excellent radio reception. Phone has excellent clarity, no cracking popping noises. Alarm is very loud. Backlit LED display is very bright and has to be turned off manually but all in all a great buy. By Internet Shopper (Pennsylvania) - See all my reviews This review is from: Southwestern Bell 2.4 GHz Caller ID Cordless Telephone, Stereo CD Player Clock Radio (Pewter) (Office Product) Just like one of the other reviews stated, the display is extremely bright. I bought one for me and one for my wife. With 2 of them in the same room we could almost read a book from the light that was put off. I had a piece of tinted vinyl (for sticking to your windshield when the sun is extremely bright) and cut pieces to put over the displays. It took 2 pieces for each display to make the room dark again. It is difficult to see the display during the day, however. Also, the volume is very difficult to adjust. There is something to be said about analog controls. The digital volume on these units is too soft on one setting and too loud on the next higher setting.
Nevertheless, I am still glad I bought them. It is important to have a combined alarm clock and telephone when bedside table space is limited. The fact that the telephone is cordless is an additional benefit. Having the CD Player as part of the package was not really important to me. |
