This review is from: Uniden Corded/Cordless Digital Answering System with Cordless Handset (CEZAi2998) (Office Product) I agree with most of what "DTFFX" wrote in his 10/27/09 review, he was very thorough, and I can't comment on things like his distance claim or his battery concern for which I don't have any experience. This is a nice phone that has a lot of features, many features that can be turned on or off for that custom set-up. I turned off the speaking feature which I didn't care for. One Con for me is the Talk Button. On the base unit, it turns the speakerphone on and off. On the handset it connects and disconnects the phone, but has a speaker button for the speakerphone on the handset. This is a little confusing for my 85 year old mother who uses the phone. I think the talk button on the base unit should simply be labeled speaker like the cordless handset. The base connects and disconnects by just picking up or hanging up the corded handset. I am very pleased with this phone and would recommend it to anybody. I was looking for a corded base that operates...Read more 98 of 107 people found the following review helpful: By Erica Paris (Dallas, TX, USA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Uniden Corded/Cordless Digital Answering System with Cordless Handset (CEZAi2998) (Office Product) I am on the phone for several hours every day, and need my hands free to type. Since headsets give me headaches, I use the speakerphone. On my old Uniden 5.8 GHz, I was constantly asking the person on the other line to repeat themselves. When my old Uniden finally started to crap out on me, I ordered this one to replace it, thinking that I would finally be able to clearly hear the person I was on the phone with. I was disappointed... Both the base and portable handset have talking caller ID, which announces (in a hilariously mispronounced way), the name of the person calling. Turning the volume down on the ringer turns the volume down on the talking caller ID, so if you have the ringer volume turned down, you can't hear the talking caller ID. ***I wish the volume of the talking caller ID were separate from the ringer volume, and I wish I could turn the ringer off completely, and still have the talking caller ID work.***...Read more 41 of 42 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Uniden Corded/Cordless Digital Answering System with Cordless Handset (CEZAi2998) (Office Product) I purchased this for my 86 year-old mother who has trouble whenever she gets on the phone. She is always taking the hearing aids out or putting them in. Finally I can call mom and she can hear who is on the line and doesn't have to fool with her hearing aids! Yeah! I highly recommend this purchase for the hard of hearing and the elderly. Something I wasn't expecting was that the phone actually has a blinking light when the phone is ringing. |
