The DCX300 is also remarkably easy to use, thanks to the English and Spanish language menu prompts and a back-lit keypad that lets you quickly enter phone numbers or access features in all kinds of light conditions. Additionally, the large, easy-to-read LCD screen on the handset displays the date, time, extension and other important data, so you can stay on-track. This system is also compatible with caller-ID and call-waiting displays for up to 30 number histories, which means you won't need to hunt for a number before returning an important call. And the advanced phonebook feature stores up to 70 phone book locations, giving you the ability to store and access all your most often called numbers. You can even assign unique ringers to different calling parties so you'll know who's on the line the minute the phone rings.
The DCX300 utilizes DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications) technology that's suited to voice, data and networking applications with a cordless range of up to 1600 feet away from the phone base. This system also allows for three-way conference calling--a great option for making long-distance calls to family members or for small office teleconferences--and you can also quickly transfer calls between handsets. And a light on the handset immediately alerts you when you have a new message.
About DECT Technology
Advanced DECT 6.0 technology, or Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications, operates on the newly released 1.9 GHz frequency band that was recently allocated to support cordless telephony. Uniden DECT 6.0 incorporates unique "listen before transmit" technology that avoids interference with many household products, such as baby monitors, microwaves and WiFi (which operate on frequencies like 2.4 GHz). As a result, DECT phones offer consumers enhanced voice clarity and crystal clear digital sound quality. DECT 6.0 technology also offers higher security and voice protection, as well as a longer battery and battery standby life than existing 2.4 GHZ or 5.8 GHz phones.
The DCX300 is backed by a one-year limited warranty.

I tried Philips: good, but battery life was pitiful and the sound was way too low. After that I bought the Panasonic Expandable Digital Cordless Dect 6.0 Phone System (KXTG8232B). I found it bulky and annoying in many ways. What did it for me is that it was impossible to use it with the Panasonic KX-TCA92 Comfort Fit Hands-Free Headset with Fold Design. People could not hear me, and I barely heard them. I thought the headset was defective, but it wasn't, it now works perfectly well with this unit. Hard to believe that a Panasonic headset would not work with a Panasonic phone, but it didn't.
