This review is from: Uniden D3288-2 Corded/Cordless with Answering System with Cell Link and 2 Handsets (Office Product)
So far, we've been very impressed with this phone system. We chose it due to the high marks received in Consumer Reports (I know, I know). We purchased the 2-handset system along with 2 more handsets (Uniden DCX320 Cordless Handset) for a total of 4.
I specifically like the Bluetooth feature and find the range to be quite acceptable. We leave our phones near the base anyway (although it still works fine even with a cell phone that's on a different floor). I like being able to receive cell calls on any of our handsets.
The sound quality on calls is great. Better than any other cordless phone we've ever used.
Other reviewers have complained about the "clunky" user interface, and I understand what they're saying -- which is why I'm not giving it 5 stars. The menus aren't entirely intuitive and it does...Read more

Share minutes with your cell phone, talk during power outages...and more!,

I briefly considered giving up my land lines and going to cell phones, but then decided that the land line gives me much better quality of the calls and has not gone dead once when I loose electrical power. I also noticed that my cell reception varies from good to rather bad in different parts of the house.
To keep the phone working through electrical power outage you need a corded phone (rather than cordless). Fortunately, this Uniden model allows you to have it all. The base has a corded phone which can be used during a power outage, and the other units have the convenience of being cordless for the rest of the times.
This unit has an answering machine and can support up to 12 cordless units (comes with two). It has a very good quality of voice when you are both listening and talking. I spent a lot of time on conference calls and these calls can go on for hours. I have been using this phone for several months and still have no problem completing these...Read more

I was looking for Link-to-cell or cell link technology in a desk set, i.e. corded, full sized handset with a display, and Uniden seems to be first-to-market. They should have waited.
First, the strength of the Bluetooth connection is not as robust as my other cellular linked system (Panasonic). So, if I don't bring my cell phone into the same room that the base station is in, it won't 'see' the cell phone. To me, this kind of defeats the purpose of cellular linkage, i.e. the cell phone ringing and it is 2 floors down and halfway across the house.
Worse however is the user interface. To dial a number from the directory requires a minimum of 5 keystrokes and as many as 11, depending upon how many entries of each letter one has in the directory. And, once you started any sequence of feature use, you cannot get back to a static screen without pressing the (alleged) 'home' button, which will dial the displayed number, and then pressing it again to terminate the unwanted...Read more
