The DXAI4299 has a 30-number caller ID (each handset), and the display-and-dial feature allows you to easily scroll through the caller ID list and dial the displayed number with the touch of a button. Ten memory-dial presets are also provided, allowing you to quickly dial the most frequently used outgoing numbers.
You can transfer incoming calls between handsets, while headset compatibility provides a convenient, hands-free communication method. You can adjust handset and ringer volume levels, as well as set the handset LCD menu to one of three menu languages (English, French, or Spanish). The base unit is wall-mountable, offering increased placement options, and a page button lets you easily locate a misplaced handset.
The all-digital answering machine has a 13-minute maximum record, while the maximum message length can be set to either 1 or 4 minutes. With memo and conversation recording, the DXAI4288-2 provides a quick and easy way to save important information such as directions and telephone numbers, and full remote operation allows you to check your messages even when you are away from home. Uniden also provides a one-year limited warranty on both parts and labor.

It gets horrible reception even when right next to the receiver. The volume level on it is so low that I have to be in a room with no other noise in order to hear someone speak. It was a complete waste of money and now I have to spend money on another phone and throw this one out. 16 of 18 people found the following review helpful: By carlosco (Seattle, WA USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Uniden DXAI4288-2 2.4 GHz Extended Range Cordless Phone with Dual Handsets, Caller ID/Call Waiting and Digital Answering Machine (Office Product) Consider this before buying it: eventhough TWO handsets are included in the box and it's clearly advertised by Uniden as a "dual-handset" model, only ONE handset can be used at the same time!!!In other words, once you pick up an incoming call the other handset is useless. This is basic functionality that anyone can reasonably expect from a phone, isn't it? I know my parents will usually want to participate in the conversation at the same time and that's why I gave them this phone as a gift. Poor choice on my side, we are returning it now. To make this worse, this "little detail" is only mentioned in page #57 of the User's Manual under "Troubleshooting". No mention of this whatsoever in the packaging. If this is important to you just cross this phone out of your list. Best luck. 11 of 12 people found the following review helpful: This review is from: Uniden DXAI4288-2 2.4 GHz Extended Range Cordless Phone with Dual Handsets, Caller ID/Call Waiting and Digital Answering Machine (Office Product) I'm glad I had my phone before I read the bad review or I'd have returned it. I can't believe what a nice phone this is for the what I paid for it. I don't need the extra phone that comes with it so I've put it away to use when the batteries in the one I'm using wears out. I'm not very technical minded, but I was able to figure out how to use the answering machine and have tested everything and I'm very happy with it. I chose the phone because someone told me it was a "best buy" and I feel they steered me in the right direction. |
