Verizon V400AM-1 DECT 6.0 Cordless Phone with Oversided Buttons and Enhanced Acoustics (Silver)

I purchased this telephone because of claimed added clarity and sound volume because I have a moderate hearing problem. The clarity is very good on both the handset and the answering machine. The sound volume, even adjusted to the highest level, is not much better than other cordless phones we use when using the handset, and is less than other phones when using the speaker phone feature. The operating manual is incomplete. Even though the telephone supposedly has a remote access feature, the manual doesn't cover how to use it. I had to call Verizon support to get directions. The telephone is supposed to be expandable to more handsets; but I can't find any for this model any place. Verizon support couldn't tell me where to buy additional handsets either (the sellers they named, including Amazon, don't have them). Even the manual is silent on extra handsets. The long and short of it, I found Siemens phones a long time ago and compared to other manufacturers, their durability is superior. Circumstances called for me to get a competitor phone, and then I had to replace the competitor phone with another competitor phone. Circumstances changed and after searching the net, I finally found Siemens phones sold under the Verizon name. I have the V400 and I guess through some software glitch, some of the functions do not work, but I am not concerned about a few glitches when the over-all performance of the phone is outstanding. The sound quality is unrivaled, and I have to talk a long time to draw the battery down. There is a satellite extension handset for this model, but unfortunately, it is only sold in Europe.
