The Vtech CS5111 Cordless Phone is exactly what I was looking for, an affordable cordless phone that would hold a charge and had minimal extra stuff. It does not have an answering machine or a speaker phone, and I already had those in other phones. I needed a simple wall mount cordless phone with caller ID for the kitchen. The handset is light and comfortable, good looking in its silver and black finish. It can be used as a desk phone or a wall phone. It has the normal attachment feature to hook it to a wall mount jack. My jack was the wrong style so I converted a jack with the RCA TP251 Wall Phone Mount I found here at Amazon. It sits securely in the wall set and does not fall out.

It has a couple of features I need with my weak eyes and hearing, the screen is large and lights up (could be brighter though), the big buttons all light up, and it has a volume control on the handset. A great everyday cordless phone. Has all the features you will need and it doesn't interfere with Wi-Fi. That was my greatest concern, since my Internet access depends on our Wi-Fi system and Internet satellite. Older, and cheaper cordless phones would knock me offline in a heartbeat the minute they rang or were picked up and turned on to the dial tone. No problem with this phone at all.

Because I make my living online the Wi-Fi issue was very important to me. I looked at a lot of phones before I decided on this one. With the lower Ghz phones ruled out, I was attracted to the new DECT 6.0 phones for the price, only to discover that in the reviews that although they claim to be Wi-Fi friendly, many people had problems. This phone at 5.8 Ghz (like our old GE cordless) was the answer.

I purchased this phone to replace another cordless caller id phone. I've heard god things about V-Tech and this phone was on sale. It was great when straight out of the box. It worked properly. It didn't conflict with Wi-Fi. When the phone aged by 1 year, the numbers in the screen faded away; they couldn't be brought back even after recharging the battery and replacing with a new. The phone still works, but caller ID and the phone directory no longer does because the numbers no longer show.
I wouldn't buy this again, nor can I recommend it. The decision to purchase is yours.
