I looked at a lot of different landline phones before I purchased this system and I'm glad I did. The call quality is great, and the ringers are sufficient. The buttons are large and clear and have a great feel to them. They also light up for a little while when you pick the phone up from the base or press a button, so you can see them in the dark. [Yes, the screen lights up as well!] These phones just have a great look and feel to them; They don't feel cheap, and they work perfectly. I really regret my purchase. This phone is slow - meaning the numbers, when punched, take a moment to register on the screen. It's annoying, but it's not the main reason for my two-star review.

This phone, when held up to the ear, still behaves like a speaker phone. When there is background noise on my end (and I have two young children so there is always background noise), the other person's voice cuts out. As soon as my toddler yells, the phone cuts out for at least 4 seconds. Conversations are near impossible when my kids or the barking dogs are around. I've taken to using my cell phone for 90% of my calls. I rue the day I bought this thing, and now I'm stuck with it. If you spend a lot of time having personal conversations and if you have noisy kids, I highly recommend against this thing.

Most of everything in the reviews for this phone are true except for the quality of sound. Too much distortion, both the ear piece and the answering machine speaker sounds like there is a piece of tinfoil on the speakers. Very hard to understand the caller and the messages. Only one star from me. I feel the sound quality is more important in a phone then any other feature.
